The Unilever YES Programme is meant to provide participants with a meaningful work experience, skills development opportunities, and exposure to a professional environment as stepping stone into the world of work.

Responsibilities

• Supporting R&D Operations: Assist in day-to-day activities across the R&D business function to maintain effective workflow and contribute to team productivity
• Hands-On Task Execution: Undertake practical support tasks that expose you to real-world chemical engineering applications, such as process support, data handling, or experimental assistance in a fast-paced environment
• Skills Development and Learning: Engage in activities designed to build technical and professional skills, including collaboration with teams on office-based or factory-floor projects
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively within the R&D team to address business challenges, demonstrating Unilever behaviors like caring deeply, focusing on priorities, staying ahead of trends, and delivering with excellence

Qualifications

• South African citizen, aged 18 – 34 years
• Currently unemployed and not studying full-time
• Completed Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• Should not have more than 2 years’ work experience
• Commitment to the 12-month programme
• Must not have completed a YES Programme previously
• Willingness to learn and grow in a professional environment
• A strong academic record
• Strong computer literacy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good time management
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
